Black mass processing capacity to increase from 20,000 to 80,000 tonnes per year over 2 years

- Battery processing capacity to increase from 15,000 to 72,000 tonnes per year over 2 years

Singapore – April 24 – GLC Recycle, a leading innovator in sustainable battery recycling, today announced a major planned expansion of its processing capacity in order to serve the burgeoning battery markets.

It is targeting doubling its capacity successively in 2025 and 2026, with the expansion process to start from H2-2024 onward.

By the end of 2026, the company will have more than quadrupled its black mass processing capacity, from 20,000 to 80,000 tonnes per year at its environmentally-friendly Laos facility, which is powered solely by hydroelectric power.

Battery processing capacity at its Singapore facility will also see a significant increase, growing from 15,000 to 72,000 tonnes per year in the span of two years.

GLC Recycle’s Eco-Hybrid technology recycles all waste water back into the production process, achieving zero water discharge.

The rapid scaling up of GLC Recycle’s operations keeps it at the forefront of innovative closed-loop eco-friendly battery solutions.

“This expansion reflects our commitment to meeting the growing demand for responsible battery recycling,” said Yang Mingdong, CEO of GLC Recycle. “As the electric vehicle market continues to expand, it is crucial to have a robust infrastructure in place to ensure that batteries are recycled in an environmentally friendly way."

The expansion will be supported by the opening of new recycling facilities and the upgrading of existing ones.

GLC Recycle is committed to using the latest Eco-Hybrid technology and best environmental protection practices to ensure that its recycling processes are safe, efficient, and sustainable.
